Ben Madill

Ben Madill, owner of Nationwide Magazine & Book Distributors, was born in Canada. Mr. Madill served in the Royal Canadian Engineers in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1960 to 1964, and was honorably discharged.

Upon relocating to the United States in 1964, Mr. Madill started his own company with one truck. In 1979, he had grown to 17 trucks, and started Nationwide Magazine & Book Distributors in Irving, TX to service the print industry.

Specializing in the delivery of time sensitive materials, Nationwide Magazine became forefront in the industry in Texas and surrounding states. In 1989, Mr. Madill became partners with Edsel Cleveland, Sr. in Nationwide Southeast, to service the southeast region of the United States.

Mr. Madill soon recognized a pressing need to develop a market for recycled magazine paper, most unsold magazines ended up in a landfill. In 1992, he started Nationwide Magazine Recycling, and was innovative in pioneering techniques used today worldwide. Nationwide Recycling sales over the last five years have reached over $40,000,000 annually, purchasing shredded, unsold magazines in both Canada and the United States.

Continuing his quest to service the magazine industry, Mr. Madill created Nationwide Denver in 1995 by purchasing West 8: Nationwide Denver delivers to the northwest.

In 2003, Mr. Madill purchased Chas. Levy Transportation in Chicago, IL, and Nationwide Midwest was created, to service the central states. In 2006, Mr. Madill started Nationwide Northeast in Bethany, CT, with his partner, Mart Cleveland, and also opened a terminal in Hanover, PA.

Nationwide Magazine has grown to over 500 trucks and terminals country-wide to date: Mr. Madill remains heavily involved with day to day operations with all his companies, and is committed to offering quality service to the printing and publishing industry.
